Privacy information for visitors

This is a review draft, not the final approved Privacy Policy. The Indie Author Insider, LLC will review this information before public launch and confirm details such as data-retention periods and applicable privacy rights.

Contact forms, appointments and reader applications

Contact forms collect information such as your name, email address, message and selected services. Appointment requests also collect a preferred date, time and meeting type. Influencer applications can collect a public profile URL and reading interests. These submissions are stored in the website’s administrative database so authorized administrators can review and respond. They may also add internal notes and status updates. Appointment requests do not access a private calendar or automatically create bookings.

Testimonials and reviews

If you submit a testimonial, your name, contact details, review text and optional rating or profile link are used to review the submission. Submissions are not automatically displayed publicly. With your consent and administrator approval, a testimonial may be published with the approved name, review text and other approved public details. The business must confirm how withdrawal and removal requests will be handled.

Newsletter

The newsletter is integrated with Kit (formerly ConvertKit). If newsletter registration is enabled on the website, we send the email address and consent associated with a requested signup to Kit for subscription management. Newsletter registration may be temporarily unavailable in a development or review environment. The final policy must link to Kit’s relevant privacy information and confirm the unsubscribe process.

Bookstore and payments

The Indie Author Insider is preparing a Square-powered checkout. Until secure checkout has been enabled and owner-approved policies are published, the new bookstore will not accept payments. Square and related fulfillment providers may process information necessary for a completed order. The owner must review the final order and payment data practices before launch.

Website preferences and media

The website may save visitor choices, such as sound and newsletter-popup preferences, in browser storage. Media may be served from the website’s hosting and Cloudflare R2 storage. Where the podcast page shows YouTube video preview images, those thumbnails are requested from YouTube's image servers. Following links to YouTube or other external platforms is subject to those services' privacy practices. These preferences are separate from a newsletter subscription. The site should be reviewed for any further analytics, cookies, embedded services and hosting logs before the policy is finalized.

Retention, sharing and rights

Authorized website administrators and service providers may handle information needed to operate these features. Specific retention periods, deletion procedures, international transfers, requests regarding personal information and contact verification still require the business owner’s confirmation. We should not publish promises that have not been verified.
